I’m constantly testing, experimenting and implementing different SEO strategies in attempt to improve my search engine rankings in Google. The two tactics discussed in this video I have seen a lot of success with over the life of my blog and I want to share them with you today.
1.) Produce Long Form Style Content – Let me start off by saying that not every blog post you write has to be long-form style content but I would highly recommend you weave these types of blog articles into your content generation strategy in order to see improved search engine rankings in Google. By “long-form style content” I’m talking about producing blog posts that are 1,000 words or longer but without sacrificing quality. These should be highly in-depth and at the same time valuable articles for your readers to read. This gives Google a lot to “grab a hold of” and they’ll prefer ranking a longer article over one that is very short (and may not provide as much helpful information). Experiment with this strategy and track you rankings to gauge how this is working out for you. Not all, but some of my best performing blog posts are longer-form content (1,000+ words). It’s worth incorporating into your overall SEO efforts to see if this improves your overall search engine rankings in Google.
2.) Build Backlinks to Specific Posts/Pages – If you own a newer website/blog, I would reccomend at first to build more backlinks to your homepage. But if you’ve already established a good amount of backlinks to your website, then I would highly recommend building backlinks to specific pages and/or blog posts. I would also take this a step further and strategically target pages that are “on the cusp” of ranking well within Google…Meaning pages that are hovering on top of page #2 and bottom of page #1 within Google. This is a great strategy to drive these pages towards the top of the search results, for the keywords you’re targeting and improve your position within Google.
